Warrook Cattle Farm
Warrook Cattle Farm is a renowned three hundred acre premier working cattle farm.
It is located an easy one hours drive Melbourne, on the way to Phillip Island,
Warrook is also accessible to the wine regions of the Mornington Peninsular and
the Yarra Valley. Warrook Cattle Farm combines a unique farm experience with
award winning pies and delicious country cooking. Apart from the sheep and beef
cattle operation, we also explored the historic homestead, Fauna Park, gift shop
and immaculate gardens.
The Warrook Cattle Farm operates as a tourism business (trap) which allows
guests to sample life on a farm. The farm is run by Pru and Andrew Troedel
who bought the property in 1986. Apart from Pru and Andrew, the farm employs five
full time staff and a number of casual workers who work on a seasonal basis.
Using e-commerce Warrook has managed to sell more of its cattle to buyers that have
used the Internet to find the farm. In 2000 six sales at an average price of $1,000
per head have earned $6,000.
